The job was expected to involve a 2,500-gallon tank that had been filled with sand. Once the tank was uncovered, the crew discovered a much larger approximately 5,000-gallon tank filled with concrete.
The project required additional heavy equipment, including a second excavator with a hydraulic hammer. After an equipment failure, a third excavator had to be mobilized so the crew could finish the removal. The tank was ultimately removed after a long day of excavation and demolition work.
